Plays.tv has several games that integrate into our client to provide additional details like K/D/A, which character you were playing, and Pins in the recording so you know exactly when you got that kill streak! The list of games includes:
- League of Legends
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
- Dota 2
- Rocket League
Binding your Game Account
After opening the game or finishing a match, it may prompt for a confirmation of the username you used for any of the above titles. Keep in mind that the Steam account being bound, is not the same as CSGO, DotA 2 or Rocket League. The same is for Battle.net and Overwatch.
Once the game account has been bound, you should be able to easily find your friends on Plays.tv that are on your game's respective friends list, and any video you might be playing in will link to your Plays.tv account and provide you with a notification.
You can disconnect and manage your Game Accounts from the Plays.tv Preferences under 'Account'
Integrated Game Pins
Pins can help keep track of certain events in your gameplay automatically so you don't have to. For pins to work, you just need have your Recording Settings set to 'Automatic'. Unfortunately, pins do not work in Manual Recording mode.
After your match is over, check the recording and you'll be able to see where all the highlighted events happened in the match.
'What if my account is not binding/not getting pins?'
We are aware of a current issue regarding pins not working correctly for Rocket League and Overwatch. Both of these games have been heavily looked into but we're currently unsure if we'll be able to create a fix for it anytime soon. Here is a blog post that explains the Overwatch situation in more detail: http://blog.plays.tv/overwatch-smart-highlights-where-did-they-go/
However, ff you're unable to bind your game account or are not getting pins for League of Legends, CSGO or DotA 2 when you should, then the reason is typically because either another program is blocking Plays.tv, or we're unable to detect the game properly.
